From South Brazil, Carla is a concert pianist and a chamber musician dedicated to the Brazilian art music. Carla is currently working on her PhD in Amazonian Biomusic for piano at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She holds a Masters degree from Goldsmiths University in London where she studied with Andrew Zolinsky and Douglas Finch. As part of the Live Music Now UK scheme, a cultural institution founded by Yehudi Menuhin, since 2006 Carla has performed over 60 concerts and workshops a year
around England, Ireland, Brazil and Middle East together with the trio Brazilian Ensemble.
In her audacious and lively new project, in partnership with
Brazilian composers, Carla Ruaro builds an exciting repertoire,
rich in history and full of creativity. The new compositions explore and reflect the ethnic miscegenation of Brazilian culture.
